September 20-21, 2011 – Circular Knit Services joined Hosiery Industry professionals from around the country this week at the Hosiery Technology Center in Hickory, NC. Hosiery 101/102, is a 2 day course “intended for all types of people involved with the Hosiery Industry: buyers, retailers, suppliers, designers, supervisors, and quality control personnel.”
Offered 4 times a year by the HTC, the Hosiery 101 course covers the basics of hosiery knitting,
while Hosiery 102 covers dyeing, finishing, and quality testing of the manufacturing process.
It was awesome for Circular Knit Services to participate in this event with attendees from many
of the largest USA hosiery companies.
According to HTC staff, this weeks group was among the biggest ever! How wonderful to see
companies invest in their employees knowledge of the hosiery manufacturing process.
Presenters included Dan St.Louis, HTC Director, Jody Lynch, Testing Lab Manager, Steve Karriker, Dyeing and Finishing, and Rodney Sigmon, Manager of R & D.
With Hosiery such a specialized area within the knitting industry, HTC Director, Dan St Louis agreed that “little on the subject was even offered when he was in textile school.”
He couldn’t even find any books about hosiery knitting when the center opened 20 years ago. Thankfully, the HTC has changed all that by educating thousands of hosiery industry professionals in these fabulous classes over the past 11 years. Circular Knit Services was delighted to participate!
